How to Vet a Private Label Partner

Five checks, in the order we would run them:

2. Documentation speed. Request the CE DoC, IEC 61851 test reports, and IP rating evidence, and time the response. A manufacturer who answers in a day has the file organized; one who takes weeks is assembling excuses. This single test filters out more unsuitable suppliers than any other.

3. A written customization policy. MOQ and lead time per customization level, tooling costs and ownership, sample process, and exactly what triggers re-certification. Vagueness here becomes your cost overrun later.
